The Umayyade Mosque


This is inside the Charming Umayyade Mosque.
The chest on the pillars was the national "bank", since the safest place was in the mosque. This was when the Khilafah ruled from Damascus.
Try it at Magrib time, when the sun is setting. Everything just looks different, gotta love it!

Ya salaam....I really missed this sight.
When I was a little kid my grandfather used to tell me that gold is still inside it and one time somebody tried to robe it but with the power of almighty the door will suddenly move around to the opposite side to prevent the robbers from opening it. Those stories used to WOW us every time. This picture really brought many memories. Thanks
